I bought a used garmin gps watch on ebay from a wholesale dealer, the item was listed as 100% functionality, however, activity modes did not work on the watch and the backlight didn’t work. Upon contacting garmin they said the device was still in warranty and I could ship it to them and they would replace it. I am choosing this option. However, I left feedback to the seller and gave them 1 of 5 stars for selling a product that didn’t correlate to the description and was defective. They are willing to give me a partial refund but asked ME what I thought was fair.
I paid $115 for the device and I have to pay to ship it to garmin. I am also in the beginning of ultramarathon training and the time delay (3 weeks) is an inconvenience. What is a fair partial refund?
I am guessing the watch isn’t that big, so it can’t be too much to ship, but I would ask for about $30-35 back. It wasn’t a huge inconvenience, but it wasn’t right for them to say the product was fully functional when it really wasn’t.
